Sturgis falls to Edwardsburg 49-7

(EDWARDSBURG) - Host Edwardsburg scored 14 first quarter points as they went on to beat Sturgis 49-7 in the Wolverine Conference opener for both teams. Sturgis' lone touchdown came late in the third quarter thanks to the legs of Beckett Lamb. HE had 3 carries for 67 yards and was also 4 for 6 for 71 yards. Darren Speelman had 2 receptions for 51 yards. Hudson Lamb had 9 tackles and Beckett Lamb had 8 tackles. Sturgis is now 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the Wolverine Conference. Edwardsburg is 3-0 and 1-0 in the Wolverine.
