(CENTREVILLE) - A member of the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office has received a special award.
Danielle Brandenburg received the 2026 LERMA Carpenter Award for her work in law enforcement records management.
Sheriff Chad Spence says in her short time with the Sheriff's Office, Danielle has made a big impact. She has taken the lead on the implementation of the new Records Management System and Jail Management System, along with improving and organizing the FOIA process.
Brandenburg has done all of this while also playing a major role in the Sheriff's Office budget responsibilities and handling many of the day-to-day administrative duties that help keep the office running.
Spence says Danielle works hard, takes on challenges, and is always looking for ways to make things better and more efficient. Her work has made a difference for the staff, county government, and the citizens they serve.
