(CENTREVILLE) - After a year of planning the Centreville Food Club is open.
The Food Club is located inside Centreville Jr/Sr High School and is open to Centreville Public School students and their families.
Centreville Superintendent Chad Brady says every week each student will be given 25 points to be able to shop in the store. Each item is assigned a point value with the healthier items having lower points. Brady says they received some cup cakes in their recent shipment of food, and while they are good, they are not the healthiest food choices on the shelves.
Fresh produce has a ½ a point value. Brady says students can get more of them which is a better and healthier food choice.
The Food Club also has dairy products such as milk and cheese, along with eggs. Male and female hygiene products are also available.
Anyone who would like to contribute financially to the Food Club can contact Brady to get more information.
