(STURGIS) - The Sturgis City Commission received a quarterly financial update during a recent meeting.

City Controller Sadie Griffin started with the total deposits and disbursements for the quarter. She says deposits during the quarter totaled just over $30 million, of which $13 million was from taxes collected and the rest from utility payments and other revenue. Total disbursements were $15 million.

Griffin shared information on many of the City's departments. One of which was the Ambulance Fund and Griffin says the revenues were up compared to last year. Griffin says the revenue for the quarter was just over $358,000, compared to $199,998 last year. Bad debt expenses came in at just over $130,000 compared to $218,806 last year. (LISTEN ABOVE).

September reflected the completion of the fiscal year for Sturgis. Griffin says these numbers are preliminary as several year end adjustments still need to be made.
