(BURR OAK) – The history of a St. Joseph County community will be on display this weekend.

The 16th Burr Oak Heritage Festival begins tonight. The theme of this year’s festival is “A More Perfect Union 1861-1865”.

Today’s events include the cruise in between 4 PM and 8 PM, along with the Farmer’s Market at the same time. From 6 PM to 8 PM there will be Brats and Bingo in the Community Tent on Front Street.

The Light Parade will step off at 9 PM and end at the Main Street Bridge. At 9:30 PM at the bridge will be the River Of Fire. The public can launch a flame in memory of someone, to celebrate family or as a symbol of peace.
