(ANGOLA) - Walking tours of historic buildings in Angola are now tentatively scheduled to take place sometime in October. Organizers were originally planning to have the tours on the same day as the second annual Cruise to the Monument in downtown Angola on September 17th. But Angola City Planner Vivian Likes said during Tuesday nights Historic Preservation Commission meeting that it was decided to move away from that date because of the noise and the number of classic cars that are expected that evening.

Commission members presented research on historic buildings they had done including the Steuben County Courthouse, the Croxton Opera House, the First National Bank Building, the Masonic Temple and the old Steuben County Jail. The information will be turned over to Indiana Landmarks for review.
