(CENTREVILLE) – St. Joseph County voters will be presented with a renewal request for the 911 millage in November.

During Monday’s Executive Committee meeting, the County Commission was presented with a renewal request from St. Joseph County 911 Executive Director Stacy Bower. She said the millage would not ask for 1 mill, but instead 0.9 mills.

The decrease, according to Bower, is because Central Dispatch is comfortable with the money this millage will bring in to allow Central Dispatch to continue offering the services they do, and also for any other projects that may have to be done.

The Executive Committee voted to approve the millage renewal request, which needed to be agreed upon by 4 PM on August 12 to be on the November ballot.
