(LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP) – More information has been released regarding an incident that happened in Lockport Township.

Chief Deputy Zachary Zuk says on August 12, the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office was sent to the 17,000 block of South River Road for a report of an unresponsive individual. When they arrived deputies discovered circumstances that warranted further investigation to determine if foul play was involved.

The victim, whose name is being withheld at this time, was taken to an area hospital and is in critical condition.

Zuk says the matter is still under investigation. It appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no immediate threat to the public. Assisting at the scene, were the Three Rivers Police Department, Three Rivers Ambulance and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab.

Zuk says the Sheriff’s Office is requesting that anyone in the area with security cameras, Ring devices or similar systems to review their footage from August 10 to August 12. Any recordings from this time frame may contain information that is valuable to the investigation.

If you have camera footage during this time span, please call St. Joseph County Central Dispatch at 269-467-4195.
